This award is intended to honor PGY-II psychiatric residents with outstanding accomplishments and academic potential.
Who can submit nominations?
Psychiatry Residency Training Directors and/or Department Chairs are invited annually to nominate one fellow from each of their programs.
Who can be nominated?
The NIMH Outstanding Resident Award is intended to honor psychiatric residents with outstanding academic potential that have entered their PGY-III level by December 2009. The nomination letter would be about a current PGY-II psychiatric resident addressing the unique role the nominee has undertaken in psychiatric clinical care, teaching and research, and accomplishments that set the resident apart.
What does the award consist of?
Awardees receive a commemorative plaque and are invited to the NIMH for a two-day award program. Award recipients are the guests of the NIMH.
