Jun Shen, Ph.D.
Dr. Jun Shen is in the Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy. Dr. Shen received his B. S.
from Nankai University in 1985 and his Ph. D. from the University of Wisconsin,
Madison in 1995 where he worked with Laura Lerner studying high-resolution NMR
spectroscopy and conformational analysis of carbohydrates. He did postdoctoral
research on in vivo magnetic resonance spectroscopy with Robert Shulman
and Douglas Rothman at Yale Medical School. In 1996 he became a staff member in
the Internal Medicine Department and the Magnetic Resonance Center at Yale
Medical School. In 1998 he joined the faculty in the Radiology Department at
New York University Medical School and the Medical Physics Division at the
Nathan Kline Institute. Dr. Shen will join NIMH as an investigator in 2002. Dr.
Shen's laboratory will develop in vivo magnetic resonance spectroscopy
techniques and study brain energy metabolism, glutamatergic and GABAergic
neurotransmission. |
