Allison Nugent, Ph.D.

      Allison Nugent, Ph.D. is the image analysis specialist for the Section on Neuroimaging of Mood and Anxiety Disorders at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). Dr. Wymore received a B.S. in Physics from Southwest Missouri State University. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Physics from Duke University, where she was a James B. Duke Fellow. Her research at Duke, carried out at the Center for In Vivo Microscopy, involved investigation of the T1r MR relaxation mechanism, and its physical basis. Her research also involved pulse sequence development, and numerical modeling.

      At the NIMH, Dr. Nugent will be responsible for support of the image analysis methods used to process PET, structural MRI, and fMRI images. She will be responsible for evaluation of new image analysis software, as well as development of new methods to solve image analysis problems.
