The scope of our completed research can be surveyed by scanning the titles of the following representative publications. Our current studies focus on further explicating the phenotype of our SERT knockout mouse and of additional mouse models such as the SERT I425V variant
and the glutamamte transporter. We also plan to study newly discovered human SERT gene variants to better understand their functionality and how its transport alterations interact with the functional consequences of the promoter region SERT variant. Other gene variants are also being studied.
