Program Funding

Students enter this program either via the National Institutes of Health (NIH) or the Karolinska Institutet (KI), both of which provide similar levels of support but from different sources. For students entering via the NIH, four- or five-year stipends are paid by funds from their NIH mentor. For students entering via the KI, stipends are paid three years by the KI and one to two years by the NIH mentor.

For additional information on these two routes of entry, see Two Routes of Entry.
